The faculty started its activity as a faculty of protection of plants and fruit and vegetable growing on the basis of the faculty of agronomy by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 311 dated November 3, 2015. Based on the decision of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water Management of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 220 dated August 7, 2017, the Faculty of Protection of Plant and Agrochemistry was established. There are 3 departments of “Agrochemistry and soil science”, “Quarantine of Plants and protection” and “Uzbek language, pedagogy and physical culture” are operating at the faculty. Today, the faculty has 5 educational areas, including: “Plant protection” (by crop types), ” Quarantine of plants and agricultural products “, “Biotechnology” (by branches), “Agrochemistry and soil science” and “Soil grading and use of land resources”. There are 1 professor, 17 associate professors, 15 senior teachers, 22 assistants, and 11 interns that are teaching young students in the faculty. 582 students are studying at the faculty. A number of clubs operate at the faculty. Including “Young Entomologist”, “Inquiring Youth”, “Mother Earth”. Also, in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No 4421, the faculty selected talented students from the 2nd stage and formed talented groups.
